Chicago, IL March 8, 2010 − In an effort to increase the number of Puerto Rican Restaurants on Paseo Boricua, The Division Street Business Development Association (D.S.B.D.A) is hosting it’s first business summit to inform Puerto Rican Restaurant owners and entrepreneurs about the exciting new development opportunities on Paseo Boricua. The summit will be held at The Teresa Roldan Paseo Boricua Apartments on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. Guest speakers will include: 26th Ward Alderman Roberto Maldonado, Eduardo Arocho of DSBDA, John Paulun of SomerCor and representatives of Los Cocineros Unidos de Humboldt Park among others. A breakfast will be served. Space is limited, those interested please RSVP by Monday, March 15th at 773.782.0454 or 773.772.3900 or info@dsbda.org. Since 2001 when DSBDA commissioned a feasibility study by the University of Illinois in Chicago on the establishment of a Puerto Rican Restaurant District on Division St, the number of Puerto Rican restaurants has increased from three to eight. Now with the establishment of it’s website (www.dsbda.org), it’s guided tours and it’s promotions of year round festivals and events, DSBDA plans to help increase the number of Puerto Rican restaurants. If you are a current Puerto Rican restaurant owner or would like to open a Puerto Rican Restaurant or a Puerto Rican themed business (i.e. gift shop) then we invite you to attend this breakfast summit to learn more about the new plans for the development of Paseo Boricua and how you get your business started.
